Tests for class B Autoclaves

 

The purpose of tests is to ensure that the autoclave is working properly and that items have been sterilized properly. They must be carried out systematically in accordance with the practice’s internal protocol. The recommended frequency for tests is as follows:

. Every day: Vacuum Test.

. Every day: Helix Test (steam penetration test for hollow items).

. Every day: Bowie & Dick Tests (steam penetration tests for porous items) must only and always be carried out when porous items are sterilized.

. Every cycle: Operating parameters Cycle test.

. Every month: Euroseal® Check Test.

. Every three months: microbiological test or spore test.

. With each pouch: the tester on each pouch shows that it has been processed and is now sterile.

Bowie & Dick Test

 

Test for Class B autoclaves to evaluate the penetration efficiency in porous loads.

Helix Test

 

Test for Class B autoclaves to evaluate the capacity of penetration of the steam in hollow loads. Composed of a tube and 250 colour testers to confirm sterilization

Prion Test

 

Test for Class B autoclaves, calibrated with the temperature, time and pressure parameters considered effective in 134°C Prion sterilization cycles (134°C x 18 minutes). Composed of 200 colour testers.

Euroseal® Check test

 

Bar heat thermosealing machine control test which allows to verify that rolls and pouches are correctly sealed, conforming to the EN ISO 11607-2.
